Symphonic Band (HS)
The Symphonic Band is
the second concert organization at AMCHS. This band is open to student via
competitive audition. Students in the Symphonic Band perform grade 4 and
5 literature. This 65 member ensemble is seated in the spring of each
school year and challenges for higher chairs are conducted each November.
Some representative works performed by the Symphonic Band are "Suite
Divertimento" by Gilbert, "Simple Gifts" by Tichelli,
and "Spoon River" by Grainger. The Symponic Band performs
at numerous events each year including UIL Concert and Sightreading Contest and
one or two Festivals each year.
