Pieter DuPlooy

Pieter DuPlooy_The Tiger Band would like to welcome Mr. Pieter DuPlooy as our new assistant director at AMCHS.

Pieter DuPlooy earned his Bachelor of Music Education degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas, where his primary instrumental focus was in tuba and low brass studies. While at Baylor, Mr. DuPlooy was a drum major and student staff assistant for the Baylor University Golden Wave Marching Band.

After completing his degree at Baylor, Mr. DuPlooy earned a Master of Music degree from Belmont University in Nashville, Tennessee where his primary focus was in music education and studying wind band conducting with Dr. Barry Kraus. While at Belmont, Mr. DuPlooy served as an Assistant Director for the growing concert band programs and athletic band programs.

Mr. DuPlooy has attended conducting workshops and studied conducting with many respected conductors including Mr. Richard Floyd, Dr. Eric Wilson, Dr. Barry Kraus, Dr. Colin McKenzie, and Dr. Christopher Bianco.

His professional affiliations include the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Tennessee Music Educators Association, Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and Pi Kappa Lamda.
