Nanette Zeig, Color Guard Director, is in her 31st year of teaching. Mrs. Zeig attended Lamar University as a Music Major and Theater Minor and was twirler for the Lamar Cardinal Band. After she married her Aggie husband, she transferred to Texas A&M University where she earned a Bachelor of Science Degree in Curriculum and Instruction with teaching fields in Theater Arts and English; and she completed her student teaching at A&M Consolidated High School. Her first teaching assignment was at Hearne High School where she taught English II, Theater Arts I & II. She directed UIL One-Act plays for competition and placed third in district with Cyrano de Bergerac. She served as Cheerleading Sponsor for 4 years. From there, Mrs. Zeig taught Literature, Grammar/composition, and Drama at St. Joseph Catholic School in Bryan, Texas. While teaching Drama, she directed plays such as school-wide Christmas pageants, Twelve Angry Men, Tom Sawyer, Robin Hood, and The Wizard of Oz. She was Director of the Eagle Darlings Drill Team for 13 years. During that time, her drill teams won numerous awards at many NCA Superstar Competitions and ADTS Competitions such as Sweepstakes, Judges Award, Gussie Neil Davis Award, and Choreography Award. Next, Mrs. Zeig moved to Allen Academy where she taught Grammar Composition for 7th, 8th, 9th, and 10thgrades and Drama I where she directed numerous plays such as CountDracula and Beauty and the Beast. Here she also coached cheerleaders for four years where her teams entered TCA (Texas Cheerleading Association) and TAPPS competitions and won state the first year and placed fourth the second year. She also choreographed the dances for Pop Entries of TAPPS Choir Competition and won district and placed at state. Mrs. Zeig is in her 12th year at A&M Consolidated High School where she has taught English I, English II, English II Honors and Pre-A. She presently teaches English I. This is the fourth year for Mrs. Zeig to be the Color Guard Director for the Mighty Band from Tiger Land.
